Noah Kahan shared a tongue in cheek public service announcement with fans after a viral video appeared to show human feces on the floor near the seating section during his concert on Friday night (June 26).
No one knows exactly how the mess ended up at Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park. It could have been caused by a young child who wasn't fully potty trained, or perhaps an adult dealing with an unexpected medical emergency who quietly left afterward. Whatever the explanation, Kahan took the opportunity to encourage fans to head to the restroom instead of trying to tough it out during a concert.
"If you have to poop at a show please dear god just go to the bathroom I've pooped my pants as much as the next 29 year old but you guys gotta understand there's a venue worker out there with a 1000 yard stare after dealing with that," he wrote on X the day after the performance.
"I s--- myself onstage in Charlottesville but that's because I am dedicated to my craft," Kahan added in a follow up post. His latest album, The Great Divide, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in May.
An X user named Turd Furguson then replied, "'As much as the next 29 year old,' should equate to f---ing ZERO, what the hell are you talking about??"
"Okay Turd Ferguson," Kahan responded, continuing the joke.
The exchange came shortly after fellow singer songwriter Olivia Rodrigo revealed that she has occasionally noticed the smell of fans in the front row wearing diapers during her concerts. It has certainly been an unusual stretch of headlines from the live music world.
See Kahan's response to the Philadelphia incident below. His next stop is Toronto, Canada, on Sunday night (June 28), where fans will hopefully remember his advice about making a quick trip to the restroom when needed. The Great Divide Tour is scheduled to continue through December.
