Watch “Swiftie superfan” weather presenter deliver Taylor Swift-themed forecast before star plays Wales

A weather presenter and Taylor Swift superfan has delivered a weather forecast referencing the popstar’s many songs ahead of her gig in Wales.

The superstar played for one night only at Cardiff on June 18, and to celebrate her arrival, BBC Wales had a particularly creative strategy.

Weather presenter Sabrina Lee compiled a report crammed with Swift references for yesterday’s forecast: “Winds not too Swift and highs of around ‘Fifteen’ to ’22,’” she read. “At the stadium it should be ‘The Best Day’ and ‘Stay Stay Stay’ dry. But even if you do catch a shower I’m sure you’ll be ‘Fearless’ and just ‘Shake It Off.’

She added: “After the concert of your ‘Wildest Dreams,’ no ‘Midnight Rain’ — just a ‘Delicate’ breeze. If you’re thinking about ‘Style,’ ‘The 1’ thing you need to remember is a ‘Cardigan’ as it cools down.”

Earlier this month, NME gave Swift’s first Edinburgh show of the tour a glowing five-star review, writing: “Despite being an arena show, in a huge, cavernous venue, Swift and her fans have managed to cultivate a community. Strangers swap friendship bracelets, laugh and cry together, and embrace the tour’s in-jokes and lore (for example shouting “one, two, three, let’s go bitch” during ‘Delicate’).

“It’s the power of Swift, an artist who’s inspired not only the renaming of a Scottish Loch, but also countless fans to come out and embrace being a part of the Eras family. With The Eras Tour, then, Swift’s managed to craft a marvel of a show that comes with a beating heart.”

Since then, she has debuted her songs ‘The Bolter’ and ‘Crazier’ in Edinburgh, along with premiering her mashup of ‘This Is What You Came For’ and ‘Gold Rush’ at her show in Liverpool.

The popstar also confirmed in Liverpool at her 100th show that the ‘Eras’ tour would officially end in December, saying: “This has definitely been the most exhausting, all-encompassing but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever wondered in my life, this tour.

“This is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is going to end in December. Like, that’s it. That feels so far from now, but then again, it feels like we’ve just played our first show on this tour.”

She went on to add: “This tour has really become my entire life, it’s taken over everything, like I think I once had hobbies, but I don’t know what they were anymore. All I do when I’m not on stage is sit at home and try to think of clever acoustic song mashups and think about what you might want to hear.”
